Christkindl Markets are a traditional German experience, hosted outdoors in the cold of winter to showcase local artisans and crafters. We'll have hot drinks available to keep you warm. The barnyard will be open all week as well.

Please note: This is a ticketed, fixed-menu event and we’re unable to accommodate dietary restrictions on this day. Craft milkshakes, sundaes, and ice cream will not be available. Tables are limited to 12 guests max. Tickets are non-refundable.

Somewhereness is used to describe 'the state or quality of being in and belonging to a specific place'. We chose this as the name for our late-fall beer festival as we will focus on the creations from Virginia's Fields and Forests. All beer, wine, & cider featured at this festival will have the majority of its ingredients from Virginia.
This Years Festival is Saturday December 13th from 12-5pm.

A Country Polar Express at Quarterfield Markets
Experience the magic of a Country Polar Express. Based on the experience recounted in the Caldecott classic, “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg, come out to enjoy a night to remember - country style! Each experience lasts approximately 90 minutes and will include a reading of the story and a hayride to Santa’s workshop (aka The Markets) to visit with Santa and time to shop. Each participant will also receive a cookie, hot cocoa and sleigh bell ornament. Bring your camera or phone for pictures with Santa. We encourage flashlights - it’s DARK! PJs and festive attire are welcomed, but remember to layer up for the ride!

We will be hosting our second Santa Brunch on Sunday December 7th from 11:00am- 2:00pm. Tickets are available on our online store. Be sure to select the right quantity, and toggle adult vs. child as necessary.
Buffet Menu details coming soon. Fine Creek Provisions Coffee will be available at the brewery, and is included in ticket cost.
Open seating for this event. Santa will be making an appearance.
Pre-purchased tickets available with a discount (and you can get your bracelet upon arrival). Tickets can be purchased the day-of as well. Pre-purchase not required, but is recommended.
Tabs can be opened at the taproom bar or outdoor bar, for additional drinks. Mimosas will be available by the bottle. Taproom will be operating as normal the day of the brunch; with hours shifted to 11am- 6pm.

The 2025 Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the historic and beautiful Powhatan County Courthouse.

You spoke and we listened! The Merc is hosting a Fresh Greenery Wreath Making Class! Bring your work or gardening gloves and your holiday cheer ... the Merc will provide the rest.
The session last 2 hours which will give you ample time to be guided through making a holiday wreath of live greenery on a wire frame. We will also have a selection of pre-made bows to personalize your wreath. The Merc will also have premium bows and sashes available for an upgraded purchase.

Pawpaw Festival @ Powhatan State Park
Powhatan State Park is hosting Central Virginia's favorite fruit focused event, the 3nd Annual Pawpaw Festival. The festival will feature an array of local vendors with bites, brews, crafts, and critters. Throughout the day you can explore acoustic music performances, ranger-led programs, and animal encounters. Special event parking/admission is $20 per vehicle.
So what is a pawpaw? This custardy tropical-tasting fruit is our nation’s largest native fruit. In Virginia, pawpaw trees grow in the Piedmont’s forested bottomlands and floodplains, which is why you’ll find them at Powhatan State Park! Pawpaw fruits are enjoyed by many species of wildlife and was a staple in the diets of woolly mammoths and giant sloths. Humans love pawpaws too; they have been cultivated by indigenous peoples and were popular among colonists.
